English Language Centre

Promoting effective language learning and development is a central part of the University’s international focus and our English Language Centre provides a wide range of courses at a variety of levels throughout the year.

About the English Language Centre

We offer general English, academic English, English with additional subjects, one-to-one tuition, bespoke courses for individuals and groups, pre-sessional courses and internship programmes, as well as training for English language teachers.

Our highly qualified teaching staff (80% have master’s-level teaching qualifications – DELTA or above) have a wide range of international experience. We maintain a maximum class size of 15, so that students benefit from a highly personalised and interactive approach to learning.

Located at the University’s Regent’s Park campus, our students benefit from a superb central London location and being part of a truly international community. More than 140 nationalities are represented among students on campus, which makes for an exciting and stimulating place to study, with plenty of valuable networking opportunities.

Being part of the University means that students can benefit from the superb facilities and activities on offer, both on and off campus. This includes a varied social and recreational programme, restaurants, library, shops, bars, sporting facilities and on-campus accommodation, as well as a friendly dedicated support team and welfare officer.

Our students enjoy the best of both worlds, being located in a Royal Park, in the centre of London. As well as having the unrivalled peace and beauty of the park, they have all the fascinating and exciting sights and experiences that London has to offer on their doorstep, including the West End theatres and shopping, free museums and art galleries and famous London landmarks.

We arrange everything for English language students; from the initial visa support, airport transfers, accommodation service (home-stay or student residence), and have an excellent welfare support team.

Student life

We want to make sure you get the most out of every moment as a student at Regent’s. You will find plenty of opportunities here to socialise, relax, exercise, be creative and get involved. Students at the English Language Centre can join in with our scheduled social activities and also have the option to join in with our University activities.

As well as the many activities on campus, you will be ideally placed to explore all that London, the UK and Europe has to offer.

Leisure Programme

The leisure programme includes both free and paid activities and is led by our teachers and in-house staff.

Examples are weekly sports activities eg volleyball and football on campus, a regular film night in the on-campus cinema and, weather permitting, London walks. There are also regular visits to London museums, a coffee and cake club, plus a weekly pub night (note that students pay for special exhibitions and pub food/drinks). During the summer months we offer a fortnightly free BBQ lunch as a way to socialise.

Other leisure activities are priced according to the admission price for the chosen activity/period eg musicals, London attractions etc. Approximate minimum prices for chargeable teacher-led off-campus visits are £12 per visit to a West End cinema, £15 for the London Eye and river cruises and theatre musicals prices vary from £20-£40.

You are also able to book your own weekend trips with our provider for a minimum of £35 per trip to many UK locations.

At the English Language Centre we offer a wide range of accommodation to suit all our student’s needs. We use an agency to provide accommodation for student needs.
